Dr. Emmanuelle Passegué of Stanford University was chosen as the 2002 recipient of the E. D. Thomas Fellowship award. Her research compares the gene expression profile of leukemic cells from a given origin, to normal hematopoietic stem cells and committed myeloid progenitors, using mouse models of human myeloid leukemia.
