We extend our thanks to the José Carreras Society of America
for another year of impressive fund raising on our behalf. Through
collective efforts of its members, the Society donated $50,172 to
the Friends in 1998. Society efforts included a spring walkathon,
birthday fund drive, merchandise sales and newsletter sponsorship.
The 1998 Friends board meeting was held November 23 in San Francisco.
Mrs. Diane Sturiale of Framingham, Massachusetts was elected a new
member by unanimous vote of existing officers and members. Diane hopes
to increase special events fund raising for the foundation in the coming
years. Welcome aboard, Diane!
